B S Yeddyurappa to prove majority on October 11
Embattled Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, whose government plunged into a major crisis after 19 MLAs withdrew their support, today said he will prove his majority in the Assembly on October 11, a day ahead of the deadline set by Governor H R Bhardwaj.

"I have requested the governor to convene the special session on October 11 to face the trial of strength," he told the media after meeting Bhardwaj at Raj Bhavan.

Yeddyurappa expressed confidence of proving the majority enjoyed by his government.

Bhardwaj had earlier in the day had directed Yeddyurappa to seek a vote of confidence of the Assembly on or before October 12 by 5 pm.
