'Ayan' will be released this coming Friday and hero Surya and director KV Anand are meeting the press beforehand.
"Many do not understand the meaning of 'Ayan.' Some think it is iron, others think it is a person who irons, so it is necessary for the film unit to give the meaning. We once again explain that 'Ayan' means one who stands on his own, he is his own person.The reception I received from the media for 'Vaaranam Aayiram' is something I did not receive for my earlier films. I'm confident 'Ayan' will get me the same favorable reaction. KV Anand sir was the cameraman for my first film. He taught me a lot then. Now for the first time, I am acting in 'Ayan' under his direction. You can see a different type of story line in this."

Where do you place yourself among the list of heroes?
I do not differentiate like this. Each one has a special something that I learn. I like Dhanush's energy. Without any backing, Bharath has grown in the industry. My brother Karthi received more acclaim than me in his first film itself.
Will Jyotika act again with you?
I can't vouch for that now but opportunity presents itself, I'm sure she will. At home, Jyotika has put condition that there should be no film talk. So I don't speak about it.
