A love story in the bus journey from 'Madurai to Theni'

June 20, 2009
"I have narrated a true story in a realistic manner, that everyone has experienced, with some interesting stuff thrown in," says director Rathi bala of ' Madurai to Theni: Vazhi Andipatti' and the way he describes it, one's expectations rise.

More tidbits thrown in by the director:

"Since Madurai is the base of the story, at least 10 will wield axes and 4 will shed blood. This is what people will generally assume, but this film will make such calculations false. The love story takes place in one day and there will be absolute realism with not an iota of artificiality," says Ravibala with confidence.

"Rathi bala and I have made lot of ad films. We were wondering what to do next, when films like 'Paruthiveeran,' Subramaniapuram' and 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu' got released. This instilled confidence in us and we decided to make a realistic film. Producer Vimal gave us the boost to realise this idea. Because of his love for Tamil cinema, he makes his debut as producer. I do the cinematography and also co-produce the film," says S Janaki Solanimuthu.

The hero is Aravind Vinodh, who's acting in 'Balam' and the heroine is Srithika who played second heroine in 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu.' True to the title, the shooting also takes place on the route from Madurai to Theni.
