Highlights of the 20-20 match

A three day 20-20 cricket competition among the representatives of the film industry was recently organised in Davanagere by the Kannada film dancers association which attracted huge crowds in the textile city which was once known as the Manchester of Karnataka.
Despite the absence of a couple of major stars and the continuous pouring of rains which affected the flow, the cricket match was a hit considering the attendance in the stadium and also the way the local administration extended a helping hand.
On the final day Mr.Renukacharya, Minister of Excise in the Yediyurappa cabinet attended the show and even danced in front of the film enthusiasts and artists. However, the final day's matches were washed out because of continuous rains. There were several stars who were able to prove their cricketing talents on the field. Sudeep who headed the Artists team won the hearts of fans by his electritying display of aggressive batting and astute captaincy. His `Kichcha` eleven team scored 225 runs for the loss of five wickets in which Sudeep himself scored a scintillating 93 runs. His team won against the Fight choreographers team (Thriller Cobras) which was led by actor-fight composer Thriller Manju.
Thriller Cobras team was able to accumulate only 148 runs. In the second match the Lens Kings won against Legislative Lions in a match reduced to fifteen overs. On the second day the film Editor's eleven led by Nagendra Prasad proved to be too strong for the film artists team. Rain played a spoil sport in the next match between the Press Club team and the film directors team which was inconclusive. But Editor's team won the match by wiinning the toss.
The third day's matches were washed out. Now, the third day's matches will be played in Bangalore some time in August. Glamour girls Andrita Ray and Neetu were the brand ambassadors for Kichcha Eleven team, while Radhika Pandit was the brand ambassador for the film artists team.
